These festive Reindeer Cookies are a fun and delightful treat perfect for the holiday season. Soft peanut butter cookies are decorated with pretzels for antlers, red M&Ms for noses, and chocolate chips for eyes, making them a playful and delicious snack for both kids and adults.

Ingredients

Cookie Dough

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter (not 100% natural)
  • 1 Tbsp milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 whole egg
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp salt

Decorations

  • 52 mini pretzels
  • 26 red M&Ms
  • 52 chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Mix Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, brown sugar, and sugar using a stand or electric mixer until combined, about 1 minute.
  2. Add Wet Ingredients: Add the creamy peanut butter, milk, vanilla extract, and egg to the bowl. Continue beating until the mixture is light, fluffy, and fully combined.
  3. Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Add the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt to the wet mixture. Mix until a cookie dough forms, making sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl with a spatula; be careful not to over-mix.
  4. Chill Dough: Place the cookie dough in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to firm up.
  5. Prepare Oven and Cookie Sheets: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray cookie sheets with nonstick cooking spray or line them with parchment paper.
  6. Form and Arrange Cookies: Using a mini ice cream scoop or 2 tablespoons, portion out 26 dough balls. Arrange each dough ball in an upside-down triangle shape on the cookie sheets. Gently press them slightly flat with the palm of your hand.
  7. Add Antlers and Nose: Place two mini pretzels on top of each dough ball to form antlers. Press one red M&M near the bottom tip of the triangle to form the reindeer's nose.
  8. Bake Cookies: Bake one cookie sheet at a time in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  9. Add Eyes and Cool: Immediately after baking, carefully press two chocolate chips into the center of each cookie to form eyes. Let the cookies set on the cookie sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.
  10. Serve and Enjoy: Once cooled, enjoy these charming Reindeer Cookies, perfect for holiday celebrations or leaving out for Santa.

Notes

  • Make sure to use creamy peanut butter that is not 100% natural to ensure proper cookie texture.
  • Chilling the dough helps prevent spreading and keeps the cookies firm for decorating.
  • If you prefer, use parchment paper instead of nonstick spray for easier cleanup.
  • Press decorations gently after baking to avoid melting or breaking the chocolate chips and M&Ms.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
