This Pull Apart Garlic Bread Wreath is a fun and flavorful twist on classic garlic bread. Perfect as a party appetizer or a tasty side dish, it features soft, buttery dough balls infused with garlic and parsley, baked together in a wreath shape and loaded with gooey mozzarella cheese.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup warm water

Garlic Butter Mixture

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Cheese

  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

Instructions

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar thoroughly to prepare the base for the dough.
  2. Add Water and Form Dough: Pour in the warm water and mix until a shaggy dough forms, then knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the bread wreath.
  5. Shape Dough Balls: Punch down the risen dough and divide it into small equal portions. Roll each piece into a smooth ball.
  6. Coat with Garlic Butter: Brush each dough ball with the melted butter mixed with minced garlic and chopped parsley to infuse flavor.
  7. Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the coated dough balls close together in a circular wreath shape on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Add Cheese: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese generously in between the dough balls to ensure cheesy goodness.
  9. Second Rise: Cover the arranged dough and let it rise again for 30 minutes until puffed.
  10. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and cooked through.

Notes

  • Use room temperature water to activate the yeast properly without killing it.
  • For extra flavor, add some grated Parmesan cheese with the mozzarella.
  • Make sure the garlic is finely minced to evenly spread the flavor without large chunks.
  • If you prefer a crispier crust, brush the wreath with additional melted butter immediately after baking.
  • The dough balls can be sized smaller or larger depending on preference, but aim for uniform size for even baking.
