A vibrant and refreshing Blueberry Salsa combining sweet blueberries and strawberries with a hint of spicy jalapeño and zesty lime, perfect for a light appetizer or a flavorful topping for grilled meats and chips.

Ingredients

Fruits

  • 2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 5–7 ripe strawberries
  • Juice and zest of 1 lime

Vegetables and Herbs

  • 1 jalapeño pepper
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro

Seasonings

  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Jalapeño: Remove seeds and membrane from the jalapeño to reduce the heat, then chop it into smaller pieces for easier blending.
  2. Add Ingredients to Blender: Zest and juice the lime into the blender. Add the chopped jalapeño, fresh blueberries, strawberries, cilantro, and salt.
  3. Blend to Desired Consistency: Pulse the blender several times until the salsa reaches your preferred texture, whether chunky or more finely blended.
  4. Adjust Seasoning: Taste the salsa and add more salt if necessary to balance the flavors.
  5. Chill the Salsa: Refrigerate the salsa for at least one hour to allow the flavors to meld and serve chilled.

Notes

  • You can adjust the amount of jalapeño according to your spice preference.
  • Use fresh, ripe strawberries and blueberries for the best flavor.
  • The salsa can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • This salsa pairs well with grilled chicken, fish, or tortilla chips.
  • For a smoother salsa, blend longer; for a chunkier texture, pulse fewer times.
